Monarto Zoo launches new interactive app

Monarto Zoo’s interactive new app has arrived just in time for the school holidays.

The traditional way visitors experience Monarto Zoo will be transformed by technology that pushes information straight to your iPhone, Android phone or any Bluetooth enabled device.

Geofencing technology triggers messages on visitors’ devices, alerting them to points of interest around the zoo.

The app also provides visitors with interesting and practical information such as animal facts, keeper talk times and the location of nearby facilities.

Zoos SA’s Zoo Learning General Manager Jonathan Noble says the app allows visitors and students at the zoo to engage with previously unseen information.

“Students can learn about important animal issues and access information on many of our conservation programs,” Jonathon said.

Once they’ve downloaded the app, visitors can read the latest zoo news provided by our dedicated keepers, and learn about the over 500 animals that call Monarto Zoo home.

The app was made possible by our sponsor Beach Energy and technology partner Specialist Apps.

Beach Energy CEO Matt Kay says the company is proud to have developed the app with Zoos SA.

“Beach Energy is proud to be involved in a program that enables school students and visitors the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of different species whilst learning about conservation,” Matt said.

You can download the app for free here.
